In the competence field environmental- and energy engineering the thin section photovoltaic dominates. Regarding limited resources at not renewable energies as well as the limited capacity of the ecological system for greenhouse gases sustainability must be regarded as the most important goal. Different energy scenarios show the enormous potential of the photovoltaic. Beside for years wafer-based modules are thin section solar cells of most important hopes for the future power supply established. Their substantial advantage is thereby in the clearly reduced materials consumption.
